Postcards from North America: The Mountains Were Calling

Postcards from North America: The Mountains Were Calling

The Mountains Were Calling: Colorado, Olympic National Park and Squamish, Canada

@eldingo.co We’ve switched from salt water to pine trees and rocks for a few weeks. Here’s a little peek at our trip to #olympicnationalpark in Washington 🐻🌲🤍 #hiking #adventuretok #mountainlife #nationalparksusa ♬ Let It Whip - Dazz Band

Howdy-ho, it's Bryn here...we've been quiet the last few weeks exploring the North American mountains. Trading the smell of lush eucalypts and salty air for fresh and invigorating pine and spruce trees.

We've plunged in the cold waters of Vancouver Island (well, Lex has, I haven't because I'm not absolutely insane.) We've trekked to glacial lakes and biked around Victoria with our good mates. We've celebrated by 30th and my mom's 70th atop Arapahoe Basin in Colorado.

It's been a journey of learning about ourselves and dreaming up new products and ideas for El Dingo.

We've known for awhile now that deep within nature is at the heart of everything.

Time spent away from our day-to-day routine, in new environments, invigorates and re-awakens our passion for the outdoors. It's medicine for the soul, just like the ocean. Hugging a tree is just as important as riding a wave. It's important to make room for both.

Alexi has always frothed the mountains, getting to the top of peaks in the Himalayans and taking his friends on trips to Everest Base Camp. He chases the feeling of flow state, pushing through the pain in each step, until he has reached a mediative state. Even if we only did a fraction of the distance on our hike to Garibaldi Lake in Squamish, I felt that deep intrinsic feeling he's chasing up on the mountains. There's something about walking up a mountain, eating a sandwich crouched under a tree in the rain, and taking it all in (while on a little micro dose from a legal shroom shop in Vancouver) that massages the brain, body, and soul.

Travel, for us, is always more fulfilling when we're with each other, or our mates, deep in the wilderness...away from everything and everyone.

We're feeling fulfilled and inspired to keep bringing you new products and gear to fit your adventurous life. Or even perhaps inspire you to go on a journey to somewhere new – Challenge yourself to a hike you didn't think you could do or paddle out at a new break and catch the wave of your life.

It's our mission to start delivering products that help you express yourself, while providing function for each and every adventure you seek.

We'll get there, but for now, we're keeping it shady and finding the functionality of our surf hats work pretty damn well in the mountains...which is pretty neat.

Here's some snaps from our trip. Enjoy.
